Dear Vera & Clint — I've been waiting to write to say absolutely — your flute workshop was a haven form me on many levels. I'm still processing it! The two of you along with Ron, Lynn, & Eric were from the heart; end of story.
Outstanding leaders: Clint, Vera, Lynn, Eric, Ron — friendly, approachable, entusiastic, patient. They took a potentially intimidating experience and made it an exciting, rewarding adventure. Thank you!
I loved the community — the purposeful inclusion, the ability to incorporate all levels (I blew into a flute the first time Thursday night). I eslecially appreciate the one:one with Ron. He brought me from embarassment to achievement — I soared from there. Community, established by Clint, Ron, Lynn, Eric, Vera & adopted by us all — genuine, loving, learning, growing.
The perfect workshop!
I liked gathering with like-minded people from all over. I like the way the staff members brought us out of our shyness in a safe, comfortable way. And rhythm is everywhere! We all have a show-off gene & FH brought it out of all of us.
The vocal aspects of the workshop were the most surprising delight of the whole experience — Thanks, Lynn!
Loved everything. Only wanted more more time in a day / more days to the workshop / more jamming / more fellowship. Just plain more! Did I mention how much I loved it? Thank you so much!!!
This was in many respects the best workshop that I have attended so far! Clint, Vera, Ron, Lynn, and Eric created a safe environment for study and play. I feel as if I have all participants forever. A family was / is born!
Words can only begin to express the feelings of self-discovery and the empowerment that I felt as I remembered my voice through these processes.
I learned some great things that will breathe new life into my flute circle.
I liked everything about Flute Haven ~ great ideas for using Native flute and other forms of making music to share with others ~ like that facilitators had opportunity to share what they learned with total group.
This is an amazing program. The people, the energy, no negativity. Get enough of that day to day.
Loved the energy of the facilitators, their wonderful interplay & cooperation, their positive outlook and their constant encouragement. Loved the opportunity to play with other musicians.
World class. All the detailed prep paid off very well!
Oh god! Ron & Vera exude love and I can’t help basking in it. I liked learning many things I want to do more of with all kinds of WORLD music to heal myself in the future. I liked Clint’s nuts and bolts stuff and his (the game is live) and smile. I liked Eric’s fingers and Lynn’s soul in her voice. And much more.
The spirit, openness to creativity, encouragement, getting rid of nervousness, encouragement to get everyone to participate, friendship development, opportunity to perform and share, interest to continue to learn.
The supportive community. Rhythm, that you accommodated to the rain for location. Caring, supportive people.
Great energy. Sweet, lively people, Open. Caring.
All of Flute Haven was fabulous. Incredible heart opening Healing the soul and mind of many. Full bodied, full being. Conscious laboratory of spiritual and embodied evolution. I loved the ease in transitions between facilitators. The opportunity to learn from many. Each with such depth, consciousness, true gift and inspiration. I love the facilitators track and welcoming the input and facilitators to many things. Honoring the wisdom we all carry.
I just returned from Phoenixville, PA where their Native American FLUTE HAVEN workshop with ~50 others was a brilliant success! They facilitated it Music for People style where folks who had never before played percussion instruments were DRUMMING and learning to SING OUT with GUSTO along with increasing their knowledge and skill level on their Native American Flutes of ALL sizes and keys. YIKES!! (you just can't own one!) There was even a facilitator leadership track! The participants level of listening and absorbing Music for People skill sets was astounding … of course considering the staff!
I am so proud of the team as they have now brought Music for People to a whole new community of musicians who truly delighted & danced in it fully!
BRAVO CLINT, VERA, ERIC, LYNN, & RON!!!
Thank you, and the rest of the staff, for organizing this incredible experience. I've never participated in anything like this in my life. It was more than a flute workshop; it was a head-to-toe rejuvenation.
See you next year!
Exceptional opening ceremony at registration orientation.
Lots of subjects covered.
Great for a full immersion.
I got my money's worth
the first day.

There was a sense of cummunity, acceptance for all expression, all levels, inclusiveness. Loved all the present moment happenings.

This 5-day journey with the NA flute (and other musical instruments) was simply AWESOME!!! We all played music-together, and sang & experienceed each other's God-given talents being used. It was truly a spiritual music retreat also.
Flute Haven has a welcoming atmosphere. Safe. Respectful of ones values. We were always busy. Warmups will be part of my flute life now. Access to all those drums!

Everyone is of equal value at this workshop. They work on the details to try to meet the needs of the person and meet the needs of the group as a whole.

I love the community … the support, the sharing, the nonjudgemental encouragement.
The FH staff — wonderful! Skilled at instruments and at facilitating, drawing out the best from all levels, adapting, transitioning, leading expressively and sensitively.

terriffic range of talent willing to share! Not enought time to share. I so appreciate seeing and being part of all the playing rhythms, flutes, and vocals for the week.
I loved facilitating groups. Love the “heart” approach & application focus.
Flute Haven had everything I hoped for & more, the staff (or at my level the other participants) were really smart about this stuff, and very helpful, willing to teach.
The spirit, the love, no judgement, freedom.
I loved the mix of novice + experience. I loved the variety of workshops. I loved the master classes. It was great to hear the staff playing @ night. Loved making our reference flutes!! So handy to have throughput the workhop. and great stuff!! So helpful & friendly.
I liked the learning techniques to play duets, group improv. + ideas for playing with guitar.
I thought workshops were very good & empowering. I love the time in PM to jam without curfew.

Clint, Vera & the Gang — A world of thanks for last week's escape into the wacky world of Flute Haven! I'm fighting hard to hang on to the energy and the atmosphere. My thanks and congratulations to you and your facilitating team for your hard work, enthusiasm, energy, and likely handling of behind-the-scenes glitches and details that are an inevitable part of such an undertaking. Rest well and thanks again!
Flute Haven was an awesome experience!
I liked everything about Flute Haven. I found the week got more complex as the week went on but, I was prepared from the previous lectures & breakouts.
The breakouts gave me a chance to practice with a Pro for backup.
The meal time playing – great opportunity.
I like hearing about facilitating then learning how to do it and learning how to run a successful flute circle. I like the pace of our group session, I do learn by interacting with both teacher and other students in the class.
Loved the experienced staff experienced at teaching and facilitating and their different approaches to music expression. RonK and his sense of percussion.
The sessions stretched me in my “weak” areas and solidify other ones. I have specific things to work on when I leave. Many things are embedded before I leave due to repetition in breakouts and modeling by the staff.
Loved learning from others.
Being exposed to new things.
Performance / video sessions were very good.
Especially liked trying all the percussion instruments and trying flute scales with it. More valuable to me this year because I was not as nervous and I know a wee bit more than last year.
My likes are many. The combination of teaching from heart and head feels superior to other forms of teaching. The PEOPLE make the difference. We are separate yet supportive of each other and allow harmony to unfold in this sacred space.
Starting to understand what it is about.
Staff has been very helpful and gave me attention / guidance to help get involved. Felt welcome and part of event. Thanks for sharing your heart & soul…
Good people. Quiet location. Even just being here for the weekend, I feel decompressed and am able to see clearly what’s around me.
Flute Haven is about Listening to — hearing about — seeing — participating in lots of new things.
The item on the schedue that best fit my needs was the Playing Over Changes & then the breakout with Lynn that really brought that technique home. But I learned so much more in the diverse sessions that now I really have the tools to PRACTICE. Thanks again!
Frank is inspiring.
It is the best experimenting with new instruments. Flute Haven is very well organized! Delightful variety of activities.
An overall great program with great learning and networking opportunities. So many great session that it was hard to choose where to go.
Liked the fellowship w/ others. Variety in workshops. Flute vendors variety. Liked almost everything! It's just a great thing!!
Things I liked about Flute Haven: friends made. Music played. Loved trying to play with others and learning from them. Flute Makers! Really liked the many types of classes from which to choose. Recoding Kiosk was fun. Breakout sessions. Liked background music at mealtimes. Loved the site - especially the trails to hike each morning!!
Great program — Ron Kravitz was amazing and inspriation — very dedicated teachers.
I loved coming together and sharing music, lots of great techniques to lear, to take back. Ron Kravitz lots of inspriation.
Loved connecting and re-connecting with people
especially the staff & people I met at my last F.H. I liked playing at dinner. I liked my higher level of confidence at playing in public since my first F.H. The [recording] kiosk is a great idea.
Liked the extremely positive attitude of all. Everyone — attendees and instructors — warm, interesting & fun.
Loved playing with piano
and being a small enough group to get out of head space to ask questions and then DO IT!
Favorite sessions: Finding your voice, community drumming, vocalization with “made-up” syllables
awesome. Also the Flute Maker's Forum.
Flute Haven is inclusive, participatory, from the heart, and has great facilitation. It drew me out and allowed me to try new things. I haven't had this much fun in years. The week exceeded my expections. It gave me a new & open approach to making music.
Loved meeting new musicians! Playing a LOT! Connecting with more people I met at previous Havens. And any jam workshop.session w/ RonK!
It was great meeting so many nice people who love the flute as much as I do. Good food, a non-judgemental environment - the freedom to play or not. THe introduction of other instruments to play with the flute. Meeting the flutemakers! And very talented leaders!!
What's not to like! You are excellent facilitators. On the last session of Friday afternoon, I wanted to attend all the sessions could only attend 1 of 4. Gotta come back for more!
I loved the variety of activities. The staff was exceptional. The creativity and improvisation was exciting and inclusive. I think the weeklong program is the best way to really get immersed in the flute playing / instrument expression world. Thank you, thank you, Thank You!!
WOW … what talent and such a diverse group. Looking forward to the results of the Ergonomics Study. That would help me pick out flutes without pain.
Flute Haven has an atmosphere of acceptance, seeing people blossom, lots of great models of musicality and artistry.
There is an amazing degree of coordination, facilitation skills, social connections. It was a fabulous musical experience. Love the ability to play with other instruments and perform out in the “real world”. The flute makers were great. It was an educationsal experience on multiple levels and facest of fluteship and musicianship.
Everything was wonderful. I didn't want the experience to end. I found the program to be very organized, very well thought out to every detail. The staff was most supportive and encouraging. Maybe adding one more day, or a full day on Sunday …
I had no particular goals, but I am now inspired to spend more time on music in general and less time reading books. All personnel
staff and participants were so friendly. Especially Vera and Frank.
We had such an amazing experience.
We both agreed that it was even more than we had expected.
We feel confident that having an immersion experience like that will help us in going forward, and we have agreed to continue to "nudge" each other.
The musical vibrations of the week seem to still be echoing in my body and spirit, and when I returned home my housemate commented that I looked very refreshed.
No doubt from a week in such musical resonance. It seems like the week could also be called Flute Heaven.
